Chateau Cantemerle Grand Cru Classé in 1855 is one of the flagships of the DOC Haut-Médoc. The historic 90-hectare vineyard produces elegant and refined wines that reflect the spirit of the property and the people who animate it. The wine is an elegant blend of 71 % Cabernet Sauvignon 5 % Merlot 4 % Petit Verdot. The grapes come from 30 years old vines planted on quaternary gravel and silica soil. The wine ages in 40% new French oak barrels for 1 months. Chateau Cantemerle Haut Medoc is a wine that expresses great elegance. The color is deep and intense with ruby red nuances. The nose reveals a good aromatic intensity with fruity notes of cherry currant and floral scents. With aging Chateau Cantemerle becomes more complex and offers harmonious aromas influenced by aging in wood. On the palate it is juicy fleshy and dense with a vegetal hint round tannins and a nice fruity finish.
