Chateau Ste Michelle Dry Riesling 2018

Cellar for up to10 years. No need to decant it but best to open it half an hour before service. Founded in 1934 the Château Ste. Michelle is located in the Columbia Valley in the US state of Washington and occupies a total area of approx. 35 hectares. The vines benefit from a mild climate with light rainfall and strong sunshine. These meteorological conditions are responsible for the optimal development of the grapes' aromatic profile. The winery produces both red and white wines from grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Merlot Syrah Chardonnay and Riesling. The Riesling grapes selected for the production of this wine come from different vineyards located in the Columbia Valley. The harvest takes place at night to preserve the fresh and lively personality typical of Riesling while maintaining its natural acidity. The must is cold fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness and produce an elegant and dry Riesling with a nice fruit character. The wine has a bright aspect and a beautiful golden color. The nose is intense and complex with aromas of green apple citrus peel honeysuckle petrol ginger and iodized hints. On the palate it is dry and fresh with lively and well integrated acidity a light body and a soft finish. It is the perfect partner for crab salmon and scallops but also goes very well with sweet cheeses spicy Asian dishes and Indian curry.
